Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

My 5 year old has proclaimed this his favorite dinner and since as moms we could always use some family-friendly recipe suggestions, I’m passing this one on. I’ve made it once with the escarole (which I alone ate) and once with baked potatoes. The budding gourmet likes it best alongside potatoes so he can dip [...]

Can you say, “yum?”

Three sticks of butter and lots of sugar.
Morning buns are my favorite breakfast pastry. I found this recipe months ago (I can’t remember now which blog led me to it) and had been meaning to try it, never getting around to it. I think subconsciously I was intimidated by the length of the recipe [...]

King me.

I spent some time on King Arthur Flour’s website this afternoon and found some recipes to play with. I’m actually salivating as I type, they look so yummy to me.

Gruyere-Stuffed Crusty Loaves

Harvest Grains Ciabatta

Nutella Swirl Pound Cake in the October issue of Food & Wine.

Swanky dinner parties.

Something like this tucked into the corner of my dining room would help set the mood for a swanky dinner party, don’t you think?
Go read the post at Coco and Kelly because she has a budget friendly idea to recreate something like this and she’ll tell you where to order this one, if you’d [...]

But that’s not what this post is about. Even though, it could be.
The September issue of Food and Wine magazine arrived a couple days ago and it [...]

Summer wines.

Here are a couple great summer wines we are enjoying that I thought I would be kind enough to share.

Crios Torrontes picture found here and she also has a cute story about how much she loves this wine.

Beso de Vino Garnacha Rose
Enjoy!

New Age.

Have you seen or heard of this white wine blend?
It is a delightful wine to sip when out of doors enjoying the summer heat. It tastes even better served over ice with a lime wedge. Take my word for it and try it. (At just $8-9 a bottle it’s a small risk to take.)

I love my pots and pans.

Even when they’re all stacked up next to the sink waiting to be scrubbed clean.
It means we ate a good meal or, at least a homemade meal. Sometimes, I try new things and they don’t turn out very well but, I so enjoy the process of trying. It requires me to create something out [...]
