Tonight when I said bedtime prayers with Owen, something happened that’s not happened before. We’re back from California. There is a lot going through my mind about how to describe and summarize this trip. Short of it: This was a much needed and much enjoyed vacation. We started by meeting in San Francisco and then driving to Healdsburg on Sunday. There’s something very healing about car time with my [...] Jerrod left Sunday morning for a week in California working at HQ. I guess I didn’t prepare myself psychologically for how difficult this would be. The boys keep asking, “where’s dad/dy?” depending upon whose asking. I did show Owen on a map how far California really is from Wisconsin. He even can answer you when [...] Listening to a lot of Andrew Peterson lately. Because as of late, I am looking a lot at how often I screw up, fail, and let down those around me and that sin so easily entangles me. The HUGE upside of having these episodes of introspection is that I get to rejoice in [...] Gotta love the cool breezes blowing this morning and that candy corn is on sale at Walgreen’s. A taste of Fall. Literally. Finished a book I started last week. The last time I read a book that quickly, I was reading Pride and Prejudice. And nursing a crush on Mr. Darcy. But this one is non-fiction, so I’m feeling so much more proud of myself. |
