A friend of mine forwarded me photos of this nursery and I’m so glad she did. This mom-to-be created art from embroidery hoops, inspired by this idea. She also said almost everything in the room was bought on clearance. Hooray for frugality! I think she did a marvelous job of assembling all those clearance purchases into a chic and cohesive nursery that doesn’t look at all off price.
I remember people asking a basic decorating question all the time when I had the storefront in Waukesha, “How do I know if things will go together?” This is a great example of putting a room together by choosing items of like colors and style, and then editing. Not going overboard. Too much is just too much. She also wisely chose neutral pieces of furniture and then added the color and personality with accessories, which is another great way to save money in the long run, when these pieces can be moved to different rooms or reused for another baby.
Hope you enjoy this inspiration as much as I did. Thanks Christy Shoemaker for letting me share your beautiful nursery.
