There’s something sort of monkey-on-your-back-like about blogging. There are times I feel this nagging feeling in my gut when I haven’t blogged for a while. Then there are times when someone I know tells me that someone they know just started reading my blog and loved it. That makes the monkey on the back feel like a friendly, Curious George like monkey.
Just a couple of days ago, my mom did that very thing and it made me smile. My mom doesn’t read blogs, doesn’t really even know what blogs are. So, it was cute to hear her tell me that someone she respects likes my blog.
To be honest, more often that not, I have blog self-consciousness. I’m not sure I have anything all that important to say.
I started this blog as a way to keep people connected to what’s going on with the store, with me and my creative pursuits. It feels like it has turned into a way for me to just encourage other women by being honest about my life. Encourage them to strive for the best in what they do. Encourage them to love their families. Encourage them to grow, try new things, read. And at the end of the day, encourage them that it’s okay to not be perfect.
I’m hoping that’s okay with you and that you’ll keep reading.
