My Shoestring Life

I sent my first love note in my son’s lunchbag today and considering he is just 5 and can’t read, I got creative. It looked something like this:

When he came home, my very creative you-can-read-this-if-you-try note wasn’t in his lunchbag. I asked him if he had found anything special in his lunch today. He said, “Yes.” I said, “What?” He said it was a note and he couldn’t read it, but there was this kid at his table who read it for him. “What did it say?” I asked. “I love you,” he said. Then he polished it off by saying, “that kid must know hieroglyphics, or something.”
